Ferntree Ridge Display Village Launch
Gippsland’s biggest Display Village officially opened with a buzz of activity on Saturday 7th December. With 13 beautiful Display Homes opened for view, and plenty of children’s activities and refreshments, over 600 people came through and discovered Ferntree Ridge in Drouin.
People had an opportunity to meet the builders, discuss features, and stroll the variety of homes at their pleasure. Children got excited envisioning their childhood in the home they wanted to live in. With a diverse range of sizes and styles, there was a home and builder for everyone.
Our wonderful builders at Ferntree Ridge offered a personal touch with activities in the display homes to make browsing a family-friendly experience, keeping children entertained with activities like bat tennis in the yard or lolly bowls in the lounge room.
Beyond the homes, the atmosphere was full of family-friendly activities and kindness shared all around. Big smiles were seen on children who had beautiful unicorns, bats, and fairies brightly painted on their faces. HitFM Gippsland’s Santa on Tour got everyone into the festive spirit with Santa and his elves giving away presents and getting photos taken.
Parents holding the free fairy floss for their children during the mini-golf were occasionally seen to take a cheeky little tax off the top when their child was concentrating on their putting.
The wonderful family atmosphere of the Grand Opening included at least one small child sharing his helium balloon with a stranger when he saw hers accidentally flying away. Major crisis averted!
Luckily sunshine came through on the day, enticing visitors to snap up a free milkshake from Gippsland Jersey or head to the ice-cream van and grab a beer tasting at Burra Brewing. Raj from Albert’s Kitchen was kept busy in the Ferntree Ridge Cafe making delicious coffee and pies. The great thing is Raj’s coffee and pies are a permanent residence near the Display Village and adjoining with the Landgipps Sales & Info Centre, so if you missed out, you can come back to try next time you visit the Display Village!
Free water from the Landgipps sales office and most of the display homes ensured everyone would stay hydrated in the warm weather and continue enjoying the festivities. Drouin Lion’s Club’s sausage sizzle fundraiser was also a huge hit — who can go wrong to a classic snag on the barbie?
Everyone walked away well-fed and hydrated, with big smiles on their faces!
